Virginia native Judy Fowler established Puriri Hills in 1996 and has produced the highest scoring Bordeaux style wines in New Zealand. 84% Merlot, 13% Cab. Franc, 2% Malbec, 1% Carmenère. A complex red from New Zealand’s 2020 winery of the year and the woman with the highest scoring Bordeaux style wines ever produced in the New Zealand. It shows medium red fruits and some earth, spice and leather undertones on the nose that call to mind classic Bordeaux.
