Clos Cibonne, Tibouren Rosé
Tibouren Rosé, Provence, France 2019 (750 ml)
A unique wine for many reasons. The grape is Tibouren, an ancient varietal used primarily to make rosé. Generally, it isn’t found outside Provence. The current vintage is always two years prior to the current year. This is because of the third reason, it ages 12 months under fleurette – a thin layer of yeast that develops over the wine. This adds more texture to the wine and complexity of flavor. It is an allocated wine, so for the most part, the 2 cases I receive are all I will have available for the current year and it has a small following here in the store.
