From the slopes of Mount Etna in Sicily comes this delectable white that is the epitome of old school Italian winemaking. The altitude and wind on the slopes of Mt. Etna contributes to reducing disease and pest pressure, allowing winemaker Massimiliano Calabretta to use minimal intervention in the vineyards. The ‘Cala Cala’ bianco is made with 100% grillo from black volcanic soils that is fermented and aged in stainless steel. It has a lovely roundness on the palate with a citrus-dominated profile with the addition of pear and golden apple. The acidity is medium in nature with a touch of saline minerality on the finish.
