Blenheim Winemaker Kirsty Harmon is an experimenter -- both in and out of the vineyard -- and the Gruner Veltliner was 100% an experiment. Generally it is grown in cooler climates than central Virginia, but Blenheim is always eager to try out new varieties in their historic estate. Kirsty makes the wine simply, allowing it's varietal character to shine: ripe green apple, pear, a little white pepper, and ginger.
