Where Did The Idea Come From?
Neighborhood Restaurant Group has owned and operated 20+ independent restaurants in three states and DC for 22 years, but the current pandemic forced us to reconsider our business model. We now have two unmistakable goals: to continue to support and employ staff during this challenging time, and to feed the communities and the people that have embraced us during our decades of business. Neighborhood Provisions allows us to achieve both goals.
What Is This, Exactly?
Neighborhood Provisions is an online destination offering a great selection of comfort meals, ready-to-cook foods, pantry items, wine, beer and house-bottled cocktails all delivered straight to your door. Think of it as your one-stop shop for pantry needs - especially products in short supply at your neighborhood grocer - plus butchery items, chef driven dishes, brunch essentials, holiday menus and much, much more.
Do You Offer Take-Out As Well?
Everything is available for carryout on our Same Day Dinner Menus, and we offer four pick-up locations; please call the location from which you would like to take out, and we’ll take it from there!

What Is The Delivery Radius?
Right now, Neighborhood Provisions services all of the District, Arlington County and Alexandria City and parts of Fairfax County. As of June 29, we also service all of Montgomery County, MD. For now, if your address falls outside of the radius, please give us a call to coordinate a pick up day and time...and stay tuned!
Who Is Doing Your Delivery?
You will still find many of our businesses listed on Doordash, but we are very proud to report that we have created an in-house delivery system for Neighborhood Provisions that is 100% staffed by NRG employees. Thanks to your delivery orders, we are able to keep our staff gainfully employed during this challenging time.
Do You Deliver Alcohol?
We do! We offer beer + wine + house bottled cocktails for delivery, and we are able to deliver bottles of spirits to residents in the District and Montgomery County. Bluejacket Brewery is delivering its cans to D.C. and Northern Virginia.
Do You Still Offer Counter Service?
Red Apron’s butcher shops in DC’s Penn Quarter and VA’s Fairfax Mosaic District have remained open for counter service, as has Buzz Bakeshop in Alexandria. Butcher shops and bakeries are old-school, essential parts of any community and we’re proud to serve the DMV area out of all three of these locations!
What Health & Safety Precautions Are You Taking?
The health and safety of our guests and employees is our top priority. It is for that reason that we have increased our efforts across the company in regards to adhering to distancing, and are complying with all sanitation recommendations made by the CDC and WHO.
In addition to asking all of our employees to take their temperature daily before coming to work, our entrances are propped as often as possible, with door handles and push-bars sanitized at least every 30 minutes. We have outlined the six-foot distance from our counters and waiting spaces with chalk or tape, and we are limiting the number of guests in any space to 10 or less. In addition, all areas where Provisions products are handled or packaged are completely closed to the public and staffed with the smallest number of handlers at any time to reduce both our risk and yours.
At our service counters, our employees wash or sanitize hands before serving any guest. They are required to use gloves anytime handling fresh food products (gloves are changed frequently + are not a substitute for hand washing). Counter tops, POS, pens, clipboards, are all sanitized every 30min at a minimum and all guests - whether take-out or delivery - are offered the remote payment option. We have also established a clear pick-up area for orders inside and curbside pick-up zones outside for each business.
In our kitchens, we have set up sanitizer buckets and towels at every workstation, and hats, gloves and masks are worn in all food preparation areas. We are practicing “no contact transfers”, meaning that we are placing items down on the counter for another person to pick up, rather than passing back and forth, and gloves are worn at all times and changed often.
Do You Have Health & Safety Requirements
For Your Delivery Packers & Drivers?
Absolutely! All orders are prepared by staff members who have just washed/sanitized their hands. Delivery drivers are stocked with gloves and masks, wearing a new pair of gloves for every order delivery.
Do You Offer Any Deals Or Discounts?
We offer regular specials from our cadre of amazing NRG chefs for all guests to enjoy. We urge our guests to sign up for our Neighborhood Provisions e-blast (link here) which will entitle repeat guests to a bevvy of benefits, including bonus provisions and NRG gift certificates for use at any of our businesses once the world gets back to normal.
We offer free delivery on orders of $200 or more.

Is All Of This Packaging Bad For The Environment?
Yes, which is why we’re making efforts to use biodegradable or second use recycled packaging as much as possible. We also encourage participation in local recycling programs and composting efforts.
Are any of the NRG restaurants open for business?
We are in the process of opening our patios one by one in accordance with state and federal regulations. The health and safety of our guests and staff remain our first priority. It is for that reason we merged all 20 of our outlets into Neighborhood Provisions to better serve our guests, to better support our staff and to do our part in reducing the spread of the virus.
